The mechanisms to capture benefits from the Australian Microbial Resources Research Network will include:
Communication and Information Exchange
Development of a Network Website to provide access to and dissemination of information
Establishment of an e-Newsletter for announcements and information exchange
Establishment of Advisory Committees to investigate and advise on issues relevant to the operation of the Network and delivery of its objectives
Establishment of an annual meeting on Australian Microbial Resources and Biodiscovery
Holding training workshops to transfer expertise
Facilities and Infrastructure
Providing access to resources and facilities in Australian culture collections by the development of databases and software
Providing opportunities for applications for infrastructure funding to benefit Network participants
Providing a means to access research expertise
Research Collaboration
Fostering opportunities for multidisciplinary research
Encouraging links between research groups to facilitate innovative research
Establishing links with industry to exploit the application of Australian microbial resources in bioindustries
Training
Introducing a mentoring program for young researchers to ensure career development and continuity of research expertise to meet national needs
Establishing a visiting scientist program to take advantage of distributed research expertise and encourage collaboration
Holding technical training workshops to facilitate technology transfer
